Let's promote the importance of literacy by volunteering to read some interesting books along with the foster children! The participants will read a portion of a book out loud with the children and help facilitate discussion! Story readings that include the extra personal touches are the best! You could read with silly voices and high/low inflections to keep the children engaged! You may also choose a craft activity to do with the children from the Add-ons menu. The per person fee will be used to purchase the books for donating to children or purchasing craft supplies for the craft activity.
What to expect on the day of experience
Stories bring people together, even in times of isolation. Our children and youth are aged 0-21, and you are never too old to enjoy a great tale. The participants will not only be opening their eyes to the magic, joy, and beauty in a compelling book – but are also reminding them there are many people who care. By donating the books we will also help in expanding their personal libraries.
